In 2002 I traveled to Prague for a photography studies abroad program. I was interested in  the subject of the aftermath of the Holocaust and the Soviet rule in Central and Eastern Europe, and about the history of Terezin in particular.  Since then I have returned on several occasions, the most recent one in 2012, when I had been commissioned by the Schusterman Center for Jewish Studies, University of Texas at Austin, to photograph Terezin  for an exhibition as a part of a symposium about Terezin.
